She was in the inaugural class to receive both Dance and Religious Studies degrees. As a member of the Actor’s Equity Association, Desirée has performed with professional companies in Shakespeare productions, musical theater, classical dramas and outrageous comedies. In recent years her performance focus has shifted to immersion theater and film. In addition to performance, Desirée has adapted children’s books for stage, and written skits and plays including the hilarious Dingbatters Series co-written with David Tweedie. Desirée’s classes are often a fusion of different healing modalities using the comfort of familiarity as well as the introduction of new movements to help release patterns and habits that no longer serve. With BA’s in Philosophy and Religion from Appalachian State University, she is a lover of knowledge, expansion and spiritual practice. Desirée is consistently participating in summits, workshops and classes to do her own work in returning to essence and to also provide her students and clients with more tools to assist in their healings. She is currently training in Embodied Yoga Principles with Mark Walsh. Desirée teaches virtually and in-person through Ocracoke Island Yoga, the Insight App, and offers private lessons for individuals, groups and retreats.
